Two Belgian men were injured after crashing their bicycles on a downhill section of a mountain road in Wanli District, New Taipei City, yesterday, Sunday, April 16. According to Taiwanese media outlet SETN, the two men were part of a group of four cyclists riding on a downhill section of the Pingding Mountain Road when they crashed into a bridge pier. One of the men flew over the guardrail and fell into a streambed around 4 meters below the road.

Two cyclists died this morning when a taxi driver drove down the wrong side of the road and hit them at high speed on the Su-Hua Highway in Hualian County. Witnesses of the accident frantically tried to revive the men, aged 50 and 26, using CPR until ambulances reached the scene, but both men were pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. The taxi driver was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.76.
