Two Belgian men were injured after crashing their bicycles on a downhill section of a mountain road in Wanli District, New Taipei City, yesterday, Sunday, April 16. According to Taiwanese media outlet SETN, the two men were part of a group of four cyclists riding on a downhill section of the Pingding Mountain Road when they crashed into a bridge pier. One of the men flew over the guardrail and fell into a streambed around 4 meters below the road.

A UK national was found without signs of life after crashing his bicycle and falling from the Central Cross Island Highway today, April 4. The Hualien County Fire Department received a report at 9:00 am that a man had fallen from the road edge at the 160.9KM mark of the Hualien section of the highway. The fire department dispatched rescue vehicles to the rescue. Rescue personnel reached the patient by ascending from the road at around the 164 kilometer mark

A female Canadian exchange student was rescued by firefighters after crashing down a 9 meter slope on a mountain road near Sun Moon Lake yesterday, May 9. The 20-year-old woman was riding with friends on rented bikes, when she left the road on a downhill curve and plummeted onto a concrete pump station platform, according to reports in Liberty Times, and United Daily News. Firefighters found the woman to be conscious but covered in bruises and lacerations to her face
