Two people were rescued by helicopter after becoming trapped on a sandbar when the water level of Dajia River in Taichung City suddenly rose due to heavy rain upstream. Taichung City Fire Department received reports that two people fishing in the Dajia River in Shigang District were trapped by rising water shortly after 3:00 pm.
