New Taipei City celebrates Mother’s Day with free COVID vaccines and gifts
The New Taipei City Department of Health is offering free gifts for women who get vaccinated for COVID from today, May 10, until the end of the month, it was announced today.
The Department of Health said that all females who get vaccinated at community health clinics and vaccination stations in New Taipei City can receive special Mother’s Day gifts which include an electronic thermometer and dishwashing detergent.
The number of gifts is limited and will only be available while supplies last, so women are urged to seize the opportunity and get vaccinated as soon as possible. All you have to prepare is your ID card, health insurance card, and vaccination record card.
According to data from Taiwan’s Centers for Disease Control, the COVID-19 epidemic continues at home and abroad, and there are risks of transmission. Since the rollout of the COVID-19 XBB vaccine last year, people who have not received the COVID-19 XBB vaccine account for 95% of the locally reported confirmed complications and deaths. Therefore, the Department of Health appeals to people who have not received the first dose to get vaccinated as soon as possible and not to ignore the threat of the disease.
The Department of Health said that there has been a large temperature difference between day and night in recent days, which may increase the risk of virus transmission. Vaccination is the most effective prevention method. The DOH encourages the public to protect the health of the whole family and have a happy Mother’s Day.
The DOH said that anyone eligible for the second dose of the coronavirus XBB vaccine should actively go out and receive it. Moreover, people need to implement epidemic prevention measures. If they have suspected symptoms, they should wear a mask, seek medical treatment, and rest at home to protect themselves and their families.
