Man Uses Car as Lethal Weapon: Wife and Lawyer Dead
A man who deliberately ran over his wife and her lawyer after a court hearing Monday is expected to face multiple murder charges after his wife died last night.
Monday, July 17 Hung Tang-hsing (洪當興), 44, attended a court hearing in Tainan District Court, where his wife, Lee Yi-hui (李怡慧), agreed to divorce and requested custody of their children.
Outside the court, Mr Hong became enraged when he saw his wife and lawyer “swaggering” down the street, talking and laughing. Hong got into his red minivan and ran the two down from behind then stopped and called emergency services.
The lawyer, Huang Zhengxiong (黃政雄) lost vital signs at the scene of the accident and was declared dead after being rushed to hospital.
Mr Hong’s wife was critically injured with multiple fractures and severe spinal and internal injuries. Wednesday evening, July 19 Ms Lee died in the intensive care unit at National Cheng Kung University Hospital.
