Mad reefer: beef noodle shop peddles manic marijuana strain
Police uncovered growing locations of a rare strain of marijuana in Yilan County, Taichung City, and Kaohsiung City, after a months-long investigation that uncovered a drug ring centered around a beef noodle restaurant in northern Taiwan.
The Third Special Police Corps began an investigation into the drug ring in April after the arrest of a male foreign student who was found growing a rare cannabis variety known as “sour diesel” in Taoyuan City. The suspect, described in media reports as from southeast Asia, and identified with the Chinese name “Hong,” was found in possession of 14 live plants, 660 grams of dried cannabis, and equipment for cultivation and manufacturing.
The investigation led to suspect named Luo who runs a beef noodle shop outside a university in northern Taiwan whose name and specific location was not specified in media reports. According to the investigation, Luo had supplied Hong with the seeds.
Marijuana, cannabis paste, and cannabis seeds were also seized from Luo’s beef noodle restaurant.
As the investigation deepened, further arrests were made at locations in Yilan County, Taichung City, and Kaohsiung City, with a total of 52 live plants, 937 grams of dried cannabis, and 182 grams of seeds with a total estimated value of NT$20 million seized.
A total of nine people were arrested aged from 23 to 33, including Hong and Luo.
Police told media at a press conference today, August 19, that Luo, 33, had opened a noodle shop outside the school and supplied the special marijuana variety “sour diesel” to students.
The strain’s effects were described by police as “inducing manic depression and persecution fantasies”. However, the police spokesperson did not explain why customers would pay such high prices for a product which induced such negative vibes.

How utterly absurd and stupid it is for the ROC government (ever striving to present the image of being democratic – while perched next to the world’s worst manufacturer of foolish disinformation) – to keep its population entrenched in the kind of lies their communist neighbor cooks up. Virtually all developed countries with high levels of scientific research now admit to the many physical and psychological benefits of marijuana when smoked, eaten, or drank responsibly.

What a crock of shit.It doesn’t induce manic depression and persecution fantasies, and to be honest its not the best strain out there.Sour diesel is a midrange bud and very easy to find in the states and Canada.I buy better strains.
