Driver Killed in Level Crossing Accident

The driver of a car that charged through the boom gates at a level crossing in Tainan died this morning after his car was hit by a train.

The impact of the collision caused the driver to be thrown out of the car.

The mangled wreck of the car blocked rail traffic in both directions until it was removed with a backhoe. A total of 28 trains and 7,180 passengers were affected by the accident.
