15 people evacuate bus moments before it bursts into flames

A driver and 14 passengers escaped unharmed moments before a fire quickly spread from the rear of a tour bus, consuming the vehicle in a sea of flames, on National Highway 1 in Taoyuan City last night.

The National Highway Police Bureau received reports of a tour bus on fire on the shoulder of the southbound lanes of the Wugu to Yangmei elevated section of the freeway shortly after 10:00 pm.

Although the fire occurred in Taoyuan City, the Taoyuan City Fire Department requested urgent assistance from the New Taipei City Fire Department as the freeway section could only be accessed from New Taipei City.
