Eight Scooter Riders Bowled Over by Out of Control Car

Six college students were injured after a car went out of control and careered into a group of 7 scooters traveling together on route 28 in Kaohsiung yesterday.

At around 9:30 pm, a driver named Zheng (鄭), who police suspect was speeding, lost control of his vehicle on a bend, and smashed into the group of 8 young scooter riders aged 19 and 20, who were on their way to Qishan Township.

Fortunately, none of the injuries were life threatening, with most of the riders suffering only bruising and abrasions. The most seriously injured was a 20 year old man who suffered a fractured femur.
