The accident caused three lanes of the freeway to be blocked, causing a traffic jam that extended back to the Linkou Interchange.

Tour Bus Crashes through Guardrail and Rolls over in Changhua County

At around 10:00pm, Monday, June 10, a bus belonging to the Aloha Transport company crashed through a guardrail on National Freeway 1 in Changhua County, rolled down a slope, and flipped on its side, ending up on a road running parallel to the freeway.

Two passengers were found without vital signs, and the driver, along with 14 passengers were taken to hospital with various degrees of injury from light to serious.

Witnesses who were traveling behind the bus said that the vehicle began to sway from side to side before crashing through the guardrail.

According to statements by the bus driver, a 33-year-old man named Guo, he had tried to avoid hitting objects on the road, and tried to swerve around them. But Guo’s testimony was deemed to be vague, and fatigue has not been ruled out as factor in the accident.
