Police Investigating Triple Murder in Tainan
Three people in two neighboring houses in the rural Nanhua District of Tainan City were found bludgeoned to death yesterday evening, May 11.
Two occupants in one of the homes, and a single occupant of the neighboring residence were found laying in pools of blood with blunt trauma injuries to their heads, according to reports, including United Daily News.
Both homes appeared to have been rummaged through, giving the appearance that robbery may have been the motive for the crime. The three victims were related, and included a 83 year-old woman named Lee, who lived alone in one of the houses, and her 77 year-old sister, and 78 year-old brother in-law, who lived next door, according to Apple Daily.
The bodies of the two women were found in their respective kitchens, while the man was found lying on a bed in a bedroom.
At around 4:00pm, a delivery man came to the door of one of the houses, but nobody answered. This aroused the suspicions of neighbor who investigated and discovered the shocking scene, according to United Daily News.
Apple Daily reports that one of the deceased’s grandsons has been taken in for questioning. The man was said to have often turned up to Lee asking for money, and had stolen things. But Lee had not reported the thefts to police, for love of her grandson.
