Around one minute later, Shen hit a scooter ridden by a man named Chen at the intersection of Zhongshan 4th Road and Minyi Road. Shen continued driving at high speed until Shen’s vehicle slammed into the rear of a taxi stopped at a red light at the intersection of Zhongshan 4th, and Daye North Road.

Two men were trapped in the taxi. The driver, Mr Yao, 58, and passenger, Mr Hsieh, 47, were cut out of the wreck, but had lost vital signs and were later declared dead at the hospital.

Of the two motorcycle riders, Mr Liao was injured and sent to hospital. Mr Chen was not injured.
