Historic American Military Quarters Destroyed by Fire

A building in the historic Yangmingshan US Military Housing complex was destroyed by fire yesterday. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters received a report of a fire in the complex shortly after 8:00pm. The building was well-ablaze by the time firefighters arrived.

Although the firefighters were unable to save the bungalow, they managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread to other buildings.

The buildings at the site served as housing for US Military officers and their families from the 1950s to the early 1970s.
