Gun Dealer Arrested in Taoyuan City

A man nicknamed “The Master” was arrested in Taoyuan City today after being investigated for modifying model firearms to fire real bullets. Five handguns, an assault rifle, and more than 100 rounds of ammunition were confiscated.

Mr Peng, the owner of a model gun shop, allegedly transformed model guns into real firearms and sold them to clients for between NT$50,000 and NT$80,000. Police were led to Peng after a case in which a firearm was confiscated several days ago.

As part of the investigation, police also raided the home of one of Peng’s customers, a car dealer named Yang. Of the 6 weapons found, three of the handguns were fully modified to fire real bullets, while 2 handguns and the assault rifle were air guns. More than 100 rounds of ammunition, including pistol bullets, rifle bullets, and shotgun rounds were found.

A lathe, drill, and other equipment was confiscated as evidence, along with finished and partially completed gun parts.
