Crim’s Gun Collection found Stashed in Old TV

Guns and drugs suspected of belonging to a man currently serving time in prison for drugs offenses fell out of a television at a recycling plant in Taichung City the other day. Police traced the origin of the TV to the home of the suspect’s family in Changhua County.

The broken television had sat in the family home for more than 10 years. The Tsai family recently had a new television installed, and asked the technician to take away the old TV for recycling. The television set was taken to a recycling station in Changhua City, from where it was transferred to a recycling plant in Taichung City.

While the TV set was being handled at the plant, a plastic bag fell out of the television. Workers found the bag contained 4 handguns, bullets, drugs, and drug paraphernalia.

Police who investigated the case found that two of the handguns were fully modified to fire live ammunition, while two of the pistols were partially modified. There were 14 live rounds, and 17 partially manufactured bullets. The bag also contained 3.9 grams of amphetamine and a pipe.
