The 18th typhoon of the 2017 season may affect Taiwan from Wednesday, according to the Central Weather Bureau. Tropical Typhoon Talim formed near Guam September 7. Evergreen Airlines (EVA Air) is facing criticism after landing, and attempting to land airliners during a category three typhoon that swept across Taiwan on September 27. Passengers and crew reported passengers vomiting, crying, and fainting, during landing attempts. A 700 ton mobile crane collapsed onto buildings at a port in Hualien this morning. Operators blame high winds generated by an approaching typhoon. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident. The crane operator managed to jump out of the cabin, and there were no tourists on the whale-watching wharf, as cruises were canceled due to the approach of Typhoon Megi.
