More than 10 ambulances were dispatched to the scene of an accident in Chiayi County after a coach plowed into cars on the National Highway at around 11:30am, Saturday, October 5.

Cars were backed up due to reduced lanes for road work. A witness who saw the accident through his rear-vision mirror said the bus driver appeared not to have applied the brakes at all. Mr Wu said it was like seeing a bowling ball hitting the pins, as cars plowed into each other.

None of the 15 injured suffered life-threatening injuries. The worst injuries reported were fractures.
