Naked Maniac Slashes 3 People in Random Knife Attack
Four people, including the suspect, were treated in hospital after a naked man randomly attacked people in Luodong Township, Ilan County yesterday evening, May 2.
Police received reports at around 8:15pm that a naked man was randomly attacking people in the streets with a knife.
The 27 year-old suspect named Lin first went to a lottery store where he unsuccessfully attempted to slash a person with a chopping knife.
Lin then ran into an Internet cafe and chased a 26 year-old female employee and slashed her with the knife. A customer named Chen attempted to stop Lin by spraying him with a fire extinguisher. In the process, Chen received a 10 centimeter cut to the back of his head.
Lin then ran to a coffee shop about 100 meters down the road. En route, another man, also named Chen, attempted to suppress Lin, but also was cut. Chen suffered a 10 centimeter long laceration to his right arm, and an 8 centimeter cut to the back of his head.
When police turned up at the scene, members of the public surrounded the suspect and assisted police in suppressing him. In the process Lin was slightly injured, including a laceration from the knife.
After his arrest, Lin told police that he had become upset after having an argument with his father.
None of the injured received life-threatening injuries.
