Two arrested after couple found dead in motel jacuzzi
Kaohsiung City police have arrested two people suspected of dealing drugs after a man and a woman were found dead in a motel in Gushan District yesterday, November 6.
Motel staff entered a room shortly after noon after the occupants failed to check out, didn’t answer the phone, and did not respond to knocks on the door. The staff found the two occupants, a male, named Hong, 20, and a female, named Huang, 18, naked and unresponsive in a jacuzzi.
The subsequent police investigation found that there were no signs of a break in or disturbance in the room. An unidentified white powder, and drug coffee packs were found, and police did not rule out the possibility that the couple had overdosed on drugs.
Investigators identified two people, a man named Ko, and a woman named Tsai who had visited the room at around 2:00 am and then left after just two minutes. Police intercepted Ko and Tsai on Zhonghua Road, Gushan District at around 7:00 pm. A search of Ko’s vehicle turned up 5 packs of ketamine, and 139 drug coffee packs.
After interrogation, Ko and Tsai were transferred to the Kaohsiung City District Prosecutor’s Office to face charges relating to drug possession and trafficking.
