Runway closed after Taoyuan International Airport receives report of bomb on plane

A China Air passenger plane landed at Taoyuan International Airport this morning, but remained parked on taxiway after airport administrators received a report that explosives were aboard the aircraft today, Wednesday, April 26.

China Air flight CA185 departed Beijing at 8:25 am and was scheduled to land at Taoyuan International Airport at 11:45 am. However, at around 11:00 am the Taoyuan Airport Company received a report that there was a bomb on the plane. The airport company informed the Aviation Police Bureau, and the pilot was requested to park the aircraft on the taxiway of the south runway after landing.

The south runway was closed to other traffic while an investigation is carried out.

According to reports, there were 103 passengers and 15 crew aboard the plane. Pictures provided to media outlets showed an airbridge connected to the plane, and buses ready to pick up passengers around 30 minutes after landing.

TVBS reported that all passengers had been disembarked by 1:15 pm.

Police searched the cabin and passenger luggage and declared that no explosives were found, and that the report was false.

The incident follows multiple bomb threats made to Taiwan Rail Administration in recent days alleging that bombs had been planted at Keelung Train Station, and other locations. It is not known if today’s incident is related.

At least consider not allowing Russian “tourists” to enter the country.
The same type of antics were occurring in Moldova two months ago.
