Man Charged with Homicide After Road Rage Murder
The driver of a car who had claimed he hit a motorcycle by accident was charged with murder today after police found he had aggressively chased the motorcyclist for two kilometers before hitting the motorcycle from behind.
The driver of the car, surnamed Wu, 39 years-old, called 119 after the motorcycle he hit went down and the rider smashed into a concrete utility pole. The motorcyclist, surnamed Huang, 42 years-old, died of internal injuries at the scene.
Police became suspicious of Wu, who appeared evasive when giving his version of events. After accessing CCTV footage, they determined that Wu had chased Huang for more than 2 kilometers and had twice tried to sideswipe Huang before finally rear-ending him.
