Machete-wielding Motorcycle Maniac Attacks Motorist

Taipei: In what appears to be a case of mistaken identity, a man approached a couple who had just stopped to park their car, trying to open the car door while threatening them with a machete. Fortunately, the couple are in the habit of keeping the doors locked while driving.

When the couple drove away from the scene, the attacker chased them on a scooter. He hit the passenger door then overtook the vehicle. The driver then sped up and knocked the man off the motorcycle. Despite hitting the windscreen and damaging it, the man had only minor injuries and didn’t require hospitalization. The attacker has been charged with several offences.

Apparently, the man thought his girlfriend was in the car.
