3 Injured After Truck Rear-ends Vehicles
Three people were injured and 5 vehicles damaged after a truck driver slammed into the back of another truck and three cars on an elevated expressway in Taishan District this morning.
At around 10:00am, a 40 year-old truck driver failed to notice that vehicles ahead had stopped, according to a report in Apple Daily.
Firefighters from New Taipei City Fire Bureau used hydraulic cutting equipment to extract the truck driver from the wreck of his vehicle. The driver suffered open fractures to his legs, but was conscious and not in a life-threatening condition.
The driver of the truck that was rear-ended, along with an occupant of one of the three cars affected, were also sent to hospital for treatment, but their condition was described as not seriously injured.
