Woman in Changhua County Stabs ex-Husband and Teen Daughter to Death

A woman in Changhua County attacked her husband with a fruit knife, and stabbed her daughter when she came to her father’s defense in the early hours of the morning today, December 7. Both victims were declared dead after being rushed to hospital.

Ms. Wu, 40, of Indonesian nationality, was divorced from her 41 year-old husband, but still lived with him and his parents in Puhsin Township.

According to Ms Wu’s confession to police, Wu decided to murder her husband last week and purchased a fruit knife for the purpose.

At around 1:00am this morning, the couple quarreled, and Wu took the knife and began stabbing her husband in the neck and abdomen. According to Ms Wu’s testimony, the couple’s 14 year old daughter rushed in to protect her father and Wu also began stabbing her daughter in the left chest and abdomen, recalling how her daughter had been frequently disobedient, and therefore she might as well kill her too.

After killing the two, Ms Wu intended to kill herself but did not have the courage. Wu then walked to a nearby police station, covered in blood, held out her blood soaked hands and said to the duty officer, “I have killed.”

Mr Wu and his daughter were rushed to hospital but did not respond to treatment and were later declared dead. Mr Wu had 14 stab wounds, and the daughter 10 stab wounds.

According to reports in Apple Daily and China Times, the Wu’s had divorced around 2 years ago, but still lived together. Mr Wu ran a betel nut stand, and Ms Wu worked as a cleaner at a motel the family had a financial interest in. The couple frequently quarreled over issues relating to Ms Wu’s employment and other matters.

The couple’s daughter was in the third year of junior high school. The principal of the school told Apple Daily that the girl had good grades and had good relationships with students and teachers. Her classmates were shocked and saddened by her death and the school will provide psychological counseling.
