New Taipei City, Yonghe District. A 26 year-old woman was rescued by firefighters this morning after becoming wedged between an air-conditioning unit and the wall of her 18th floor apartment.

In the early hours of the morning, Ms Weng and her cohabiting girlfriend, Ms Lin, 37, had an argument while on their way home after drinking. Ms Lin jumped out of the vehicle they were traveling in and suffered foot injuries. After Lin was taken to hospital, Weng went home alone.

At around 6:00am emergency services received reports from the public that a woman was hanging out of a window of the building.

Firefighters on the ground set up an air-cushion, while rescuers put a harness on Ms Weng and dismantled a window. They described the rescue as “difficult.”
