Typhoon Talim May Affect Taiwan Mid-Week

The 18th typhoon of the 2017 season may affect Taiwan from Wednesday, according to the Central Weather Bureau.

Tropical Typhoon Talim formed near Guam September 7. The storm is currently located 2,310km east-southeast of Point Eluanbi and moving west-northwest at 25kph.

The CWB said that it may issue a sea alert as early as Tuesday September 12.

According to CWB, warm sea surface temperatures and low wind-shear are conducive for intensification to moderate typhoon status.

Storm herald, Frankie MacDonald issued a warning on Youtube September 9, urging residents of Taiwan to “stay dry and stay safe.”
