Tour de Taiwan 2017 Stage 3: Climb to the Finish

Stage 3 of the Tour de Taiwan saw riders negotiating two climbs, including a category one climb to the finish line in Taoyuan County March 28, 2017.

American cyclist for team UnitedHealthcare, Daniel Summerhill took top honors in the 118.11 kilometer road race with a time of 2:45:52. Anthony Giacoppo riding for IsoWhey Sports SwissWellness Team took second place, and Brenton Jones of JLT Condor came third.

Edwin Avila, team Illuminate, the winner of stage one placed 27th, and James Gullen winner of stage two for JLT Condor placed 28th.

“It was a challenging day with a Category 1 climb up tight, small roads to the finish,” said Team Novo Nordisk Sport Director Pavel Cherkasov. “Tomorrow will feature even more climbing and it is an even longer day in the saddle.”

Stage 4 is a 166.6 kilometer route in Nantou County.
