Taipei City Mayor accidentally flips the bird during live broadcast

Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je appeared to be giving someone the finger during a live broadcast today, May 18, but it turns out that he was just trying to make a point.

Mayor Ko said that there was good news amidst bad today, noting that the percentage of positive results at rapid testing stations in the city had fallen from 11% on the first day, to 4.7% today.

Ko explained that on the first day of rapid testing, May 14, 11% of people screened tested positive for COVID-19. On May 15, 9.7% tested positive, May 16, 10% tested positive, and yesterday, May 17, 7.9% tested positive.

So far today, only 4.7% had tested positive, the Mayor said, citing this as good news and a sign that the battle can be won.

Mayor Ko urged people to continue with epidemic prevention efforts, focussing on three points.

The first point is to go out less, the second is to wear a mask, and the third point, at which Ko raised his third finger, is don’t take the mask off.

Ko appears to have shocked himself with the gesture, and visibly startled, quickly spread his other fingers before reining his errant digits into a fist.

This really needs to be “news” right now? I’m trying to search for pertinent information of life altering circumstances, and this is what I’m linking to ???? Thanks for wasting my time.
