Bear cub rescued after wandering into village, chased by dogs

A Formosan black bear cub was rescued and handed over to wildlife protection workers after it wandered into a village in Taitung County and was chased by dogs. Wildlife protection officials said that the bear cub was less than a year old, and appears to have become separated from its mother. Tourism Operators Introduce Combined Orchid Island and Green Island Ferry Route

Tourism operators in Taitung today introduced a new ferry route that will allow travelers to purchase one ticket to visit both Green Island and Orchid Island. Daily services will begin May 1. Up till now visitors who went to either Island had to take a ferry back to Fugang Harbor to board a separate ferry to go to the other island.
