Shots Fired at Tattoo Shop: Gunman Turns Himself In

A gunman riding a motorcycle stopped and fired two shots into a tattoo parlor in Yonghe District this afternoon, leaving one person slightly injured. A man later turned himself in at a police station in Wanhua District in relation to the incident.

According to SET Network, a 23 year-old man named Fang (方) fired at the shop, located on Bao’an Road, shortly after 2:00pm. Pictures and video accompanying media reports showed a smashed glass facade. A 19 year-old female employee is reported to have been wounded in the neck, but her condition was described as not serious. ET Today reported that the injury was caused by glass fragments.

After firing the shots, Fang sped away and headed to Wanhua District, where he called police and turned himself in. Fang was found to be in possession of a modified pistol, a magazine, and one bullet. The suspect was handed over to Yonghe District police for processing.

The shooting is not the first incident involving Fang and the owner of the tattoo parlor. In October this year, Fang parked his friend’s Audi outside the shop as the owner and his friends were enjoying a Moon Festival barbecue outside. The men associated with the tattoo parlor smashed the Audi up with baseball bats and clubs.

After the incident in October, Fang told police that he had no idea why the men had smashed the car up, and said he did not know the men. Some media reports at the time assumed it was just a case of mistaken identity. However, Fang refused to file a complaint about the incident, and the perpetrators who had been arrested were subsequently, released.
