Phone-using Scooter Rider Facebutts Bus

A scooter rider in Danshui (Tamsui) district of New Taipei City went face-first into the back of a bus while looking down at his phone.

Mr Hsu, 28, was following the bus on Danjin Road at around 9:00am July 15 when the bus signaled and stopped at a bus stop. Mr Hsu, who was not wearing a full-face helmet, slammed into the back of the bus.

The impact knocked Mr Hsu’s helmet off his head and left him with multiple abrasions to his face. Hsu immediately began to curse the driver at the scene of the accident, and threatened to sue him.

However, when police accessed video monitors from the bus they found that Hsu had been using his phone and was not paying attention at the time of the accident.

Hsu made an appearance in court yesterday, July 21.

Hsu was found to have had his driver’s license revoked due to unpaid traffic fines. He was fined a total of NT$9,000 for driving without a license, and using his phone while driving.

Too many of these idiots on the road in Taiwan. How come the police there are so incompetent and dont enforce traffic violations like this as well as speeding?
