Nursery Teacher Fired after Terrorizing Toddlers on Halloween

A nursery teacher working at a private childcare center in Kaohsiung lost her job after a video of her wearing a horror mask and chasing terrified infants around a playroom went viral on social media.

The video caused public outrage after it was uploaded to a public Facebook group. The director of the childcare center issued an apology on the center’s own Facebook page, stating that the teacher had been asked to leave, but the center closed down the page as a barrage of criticism continued.

The video shows the teacher wearing the popular “Ghost Face” mask based on a character in the Scream series of horror films, and chasing the children around a playroom while the toddlers scream and cry in terror as they run for their lives.

Some of the traumatized children run to the teacher holding the video camera for help, but the videographer appears indifferent to the cries of the children and even laughs and says “Isn’t she scary?”. The teacher filming then uploaded the video to her Instagram account and wrote “Super funny!”

Kaohsiung City Social Affairs Bureau said they have started an investigation into the incident.
