Early reports on the collapse of the former Manbo Holiday Hotel included dashcam video footage that showed a scooter rider in the path of the collapsing building.

However, police traced the owner of the scooter and found him safe and well. Dashcam footage from a vehicle directly behind the man, named Wang, showed Mr Wang swerving left and accelerating away from the building as it collapsed onto the road.
