MOJ releases feature movie “The Greater Good” to promote national security and protection of state and technological secrets

Taiwan’s Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau (MJIB) recently released an NT$5 million (US$179,475) feature film highlighting the importance of information security as the country faces threats of false information, and breaches of information security, which in turn constitute a threat to national security.

First aired on TTV on December 4, the movie was uploaded to YouTube December 8, and has since gained more than 61,000 views.

The movie, which is subtitled in both Chinese and English has received positive responses from viewers, many of whom have praised the quality of production for such a low budget.

The story begins with a hacker stealing information about a patented network security system, and the team led by a tech company leader and legislator murdered in a KTV room.

The secrets stolen are so valuable that experts from the USA’s “Center for Advanced Defense Research” are immediately dispatched to Taiwan.

The story that follows in the MJIB investigation into the case.

Starring Christina Mok, and written and directed by Amy Ma: The Greater Good on IMDB.
