Members of the Public Extinguish Fire after Car Accident

Passersby who witnessed a multi-vehicle accident in Ilan City this morning rushed into a gas station and grabbed fire extinguishers to put out a fire after one of the vehicles burst into flames.

Four vehicles were involved in an accident on Zhongshan Road, section 1. According to witnesses, one of the vehicles plowed into a small truck, severely damaging the engine compartment of the hatchback. Flames began to emanate from the damaged engine.

The driver of a cement truck passing by the scene of the accident, pulled over and rushed into a gas station adjacent to the accident scene, and grabbed a fire extinguisher to extinguish the flames just as they were spreading to the truck’s canvas rear canopy. Another witness also grabbed a fire extinguisher and assisted.

People commenting on social media praised the quick-thinking and fast actions of the pair.
