Man Shot Dead in KTV

A man in a Changhua County KTV was shot dead in the early hours of the morning today, January 8, 2018.

According to China Times, Mr Lee, 38, from Taichung City, went to a KTV in Xihu Township, Changhua County, at around 1:00 am, after being invited to drink with friends. He was accompanied by his girlfriend.

At around 2:00 am, a man entered the KTV room and fired a single shot, hitting Lee in the left side of his chest. Lee fell to the ground, and was declared dead after being rushed to hospital by ambulance.

According to United Daily News, several men had entered the building, and quickly left after the shooting.

Ambulance officers said that people at the scene were tight-lipped. The paramedics thought that Lee had suffered a puncture wound, probably after being stabbed. It was only after x-rays taken at the hospital revealed a bullet lodged in the victim’s body that doctors realized the man had been shot. The hospital immediately notified the police.

By the time police arrived at the scene, everybody had left, and the KTV was closed. Police made contact with the owner and staff later this morning. Lee was identified by fingerprints, and found to be a resident of Taichung City, with a number of criminal records.

Police have formed a task force to investigate the murder. According to the China Times report, the village chief and other relevant personnel will be among those asked to testify.

According to some reports, including Apple Daily’s, the KTV features female escorts, and is quite exclusive, with a starting price of NT$10,000.
