Man Flies into Rage over Fish Soup and uses Car as Weapon of Mass Destruction

A man in Tainan flew into a rage and drove his car into a roadside restaurant after the proprietor ignored his requests for another bowl of fish soup. While reversing out of the shop, he knocked over a scooter rider.

At around 8:00 am yesterday, Mr Shen had just enjoyed a breakfast of milk fish porridge, and asked for a top up of fish soup. After the owner of the shop either ignored his request, or didn’t hear it the first two times, Shen shouted his order. The proprietor’s son responded with the Taiwanese equivalent of “what the hell are you shouting for?” A brief verbal altercation ensued, then Shen stormed out of the shop and went to his car.

Mr Shen shouted a warning to guests to get out of the way, before driving into the stand, knocking over tables and kitchen equipment.

Video of the incident uploaded to Facebook showed the proprietor’s son responding by hitting the windshield of the car with an iron bar. After some seconds, Shen then reversed erratically into the road, knocking over a scooter rider in the process.

Police arrested Shen for violations of the Social Order Maintenance Act.

Fortunately, the scooter rider was not seriously injured, and suffered only slight scratches and bruises.
