Healthy 47-year-old dead 2 days after COVID shot suffered from blood clots and respiratory distress
A 47-year-old man who became ill and died two days after receiving the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine had suffered respiratory distress, abnormal blood clotting, and abnormal white and red blood cell counts, according to reports today, August 9.
According to the police investigation, Mr Ye, a resident of Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, was otherwise healthy, did not have a history of chronic disease, and was not on any other medication when he received the AstraZeneca shot, Friday, August 6.
Mr Ye’s family said that Ye had developed fever and breathing difficulty the following day, August 7. Ye’s condition worsened yesterday, August 8, and he was rushed to Shuangho Hospital by ambulance at around 4:00 pm. Ye received emergency care but died at around 7:00 pm.
The doctor who performed an examination on Ye found that Ye was suffering from respiratory distress, abnormal intravascular coagulation, and excessive white and red blood cell counts. Ye’s family believes that his death was caused by the vaccination, and the detailed cause of death is being investigated by police, according to reports in Liberty Times and other media outlets.
According to China Times, the hospital believes that “the cause of death could not be determined” and therefore a death certificate has not been issued.
Mr Ye’s death has been reported to the prosecutor’s office, and the health department.
Reports say that whether the vaccine had anything to do with Mr Ye’s death “cannot be completely ruled out.” And that whether the vaccine had any relationship with Ye’s death “needs to be further clarified.”
