Foreign (dare) Devils take Selfies on Roof of High-Rise Building

Readers reportedly felt their scalps tingle, and broke out in a cold sweat, after pictures and video of three people sitting around on the roof of a 16-floor building in Xinyi District, Taipei City, were released on social media, yesterday, June 1.

On the evening of May 31, residents of nearby building spotted three people atop the Shin Kong Manhattan Building. As well as recording the incident, the concerned citizens called the police.

One man sat on the edge of the building, while another remained well away from the edge. A woman moved between them taking photographs.

Police persuaded the trio to come down from the roof, which had no safety barriers. The two men and one woman were found to be tourists visiting Taiwan, but were not carrying passports or ID. The tourists told police, in English, that they were just enjoying the scenery.

As the people had not actually violated any laws, police let them go.
