As Lin sped away, one of the officers fired two shots at the car.

Lin’s car was later found abandoned in front of the entrance of the Emergency Department of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Linkou District. Lin had fled the scene in a taxi after taking her friend to the hospital. The shooting victim was declared dead a short time after arrival.
