Ed Royce Receives Medal of Honor for Supporting the Taiwan Travel Act

US Congressman Ed Royce who sponsored and championed the Taiwan Travel Act, which was signed into law by the US President March 16, was awarded the Congressional Honorary Medal of the Legislative Yuan today, March 27.

Legislative Yuan Speaker Su Jia-chyuan conferred the award at a ceremony where he thanked Royce for his hard work and support of Taiwan. Su said that he was very honored to invite Royce, Chairman of the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, to visit the Legislative Yuan.

Royce was described as the strongest promoter and defender of Taiwan-US relations who actively promoted important exchanges between Taiwan and the United States.

Last year, Chairman Royce led a bipartisan delegation to Taiwan and was awarded the Order of Brilliant Star with Special Grand Cordon for his outstanding contributions to Taiwan’s development.
