Crane Collapse Blamed on Approaching Typhoon

A 700 ton crane collapsed due to high winds in Hualien as Typhoon Megi approaches.

A 700 ton mobile crane collapsed onto buildings at a port in Hualien this morning. Operators blame high winds generated by an approaching typhoon.

Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident. The crane operator managed to jump out of the cabin, and there were no tourists on the whale-watching wharf, as cruises were canceled due to the approach of Typhoon Megi.
