2 Dead 3 Injured After Lamborghini Crashes in Tunnel

A passenger traveling in a Lamborghini sports car, and a road maintenance worker are dead after the driver of the rented sports car lost control of the vehicle and hit a guardrail before plowing into a roadworks site.

At around 5:00am this morning, the 24 year-old driver of the Lamborghini entered the Ziqiang Tunnel, which connects Shilin District and Neihu Districts in Taipei City. Dashcam footage from the vehicle behind the Lamborghini shows that the driver, named You, accelerated rapidly as he entered the tunnel. A short time later, You suddenly veered into the right-hand lane and lost control of the vehicle, hitting a guardrail before smashing into a roadworks vehicle.

You’s passenger, a 27 year-old woman named Liu, and a 49 year-old worker named Zhang both died at the scene of the accident, while You, who was unconscious, and two road workers 20, and 37 year-old, both conscious, were rushed to hospital.
