Tour Bus Rear-ends Tour Bus: 7 Injured

Seven people were injured when a tour bus crashed into the back of another tour bus it was following on the National Freeway this morning.

The two tour buses belonged to the same company and were travelling together when the accident happened at around 7:40am at the 38.4km mark near Linkou on National Freeway 1. The 40 year-old driver and 6 passengers on the second bus were injured. Nobody on the first bus suffered injuries.

The injured were sent to Linkou Chang Gung hospital for treatment. Injuries were described as bruises and abrasions and nobody was seriously injured.

The accident occurred in wet conditions and traffic slowed down to 30kph and backed up for more than 3km in the southbound lanes while the accident was dealt with.

According to Liberty Times Network, the driver of the first bus slowed down to avoid a utility vehicle who’s crew were dealing with the remains of a dead dog when the second bus slammed into the rear.
