21 Vehicle Pile-up on National Highway

Twenty-one vehicles were involved in an accident on the National Highway in Changhua County this morning May 16. One person was sent to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The vehicles included 3 large trucks, SUVs and sedans. One truck driver was trapped in his vehicle and sustained light injuries. It was raining heavily when the accident occurred at around 10:45am on the northbound lanes at the 202km mark. The accident blocked northbound traffic, causing a 7 kilometer long traffic jam.

Tour Bus Crash Near Keelung: 8 Injured

Eight passengers suffered slight injuries when a tour bus crashed through a guard rail and slid down a slope off a highway ramp, at Badu, north of Taipei City at around 7:00am this morning, January 7, 2017. Most passengers managed to disembark without assistance through a rear emergency exit. Apple Daily reported that the driver is suspected to have been under the influence of cold medicine. Continuous Rain Causes Rockfalls and Traffic Hazards

Three days of continuous rain has resulted in rockfalls, road-blockages, and a spate of traffic accidents in Taiwan, Wednesday, November 23. On Provincial Highway 9(the Su-hua Highway), a 55 year-old woman was seriously injured in a traffic accident at around 10:00am. The woman was riding as a passenger on a scooter when it collided with a semi-trailer at the 116km mark.
