Gunman Arrested After Shots Fired at House

A 21 year old man turned himself in at a police station in Chiayi City last night, after firing at least 9 shots into the glass facade of a building at around 10:00 am yesterday morning.

The suspect, named Hsieh, told police that he had fired the shots in anger after three of his friends were injured in a fight with another group at a KTV in the early hours of the morning.

Police had been searching for Hsieh, after identifying a scooter used in the shooting.

The shots were fired at the first floor of a building on Hangzhou Fifth Street. At the time of the shooting, a man named Hsiao was asleep on the second floor, and a cleaning lady was working on the third floor.

Police found a handgun in the scooter’s under seat storage compartment. Nine bullet casings, and three bullets were found at the scene of the shooting.

Hsieh told police that he had acquired the gun from a senior gang member named Huang who was shot dead three years ago.
